7S5 PILOT'S MEMORIAL MEETING

July 7, 2008

The meeting was called to order by Tom Ritchey at 7:00 PM.  Present were: Tom Ritchey, Andy Anderson, Dave Martin, and Robert English (who arrived later).

Minutes of the previous committee meeting, on May 6, were printed from the web site and reviewed.  Andy moved that the minutes be approved as read, and Tom seconded.  All approved by voice vote.

The consensus was that this year's event went very well.

Andy passed around a financial summary that showed the financial outlay for various aspects of the event.  Various expenses were covered by Andy, including the flags and memorial vases, and these expenses were partially reimbursed to him by the PCOPA (from picnic lunch revenue).  Harry Malette provided the port-a-potties and Steve Springer donated the use of the P.A. system.  Farnstrom Mortuary, ODOT, the DMV, the local YMCA, the Airport So-and-Sos, the 99s, and Rep. Darlene Hooley were among the many who helped make the event a success.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER: The new Urban Growth Boundary expansion for Independence, to be voted on tomorrow night at the City Council meeting, includes 41 acres to the west of the airport which has been zoned for airport expansion and 45 acres for Aviation related Industrial and Commercial development.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM.  The next meeting of this committee will be on January 26th, 2009.

Respectfully submitted by Robert English, ISAS secretary.
