The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Gary. Present were Gary Van Horn, Herb Jolliff, Dave Martin, Al and Margaret Cleveland, Robert English, Kelly Wilson, and John Horn. Alan Wright could not attend due to an injury. Several community members were in attendance this evening also.
SECRETARY: The minutes for April's meeting have been posted on the web in draft form for several weeks. Gary had one correction: he attended a community meeting with schools superintendent Jennifer Kuvista rather than meeting with her. With the correction noted, the minutes are approved.
COMMENTS FROM RESIDENTS: None of the attending neighbors had comments this evening.
TREASURER: Margaret stated the current balances and the recent expenses, including the insurance for the Board Members as well as equipment rental. The special assessment reminders have been sent for the few member households who have not paid it yet. There was a question from the floor about that, so Margaret explained the deadline and lien process if the bill is not paid.
There was another question about a house on Stearman that is in probate right now, and Margaret explained that the probate has gone back through the courts in Seattle for readjustment, which complicates the IAHA dues on the property. It was supposed to be completed by the end of May but it is continuing.
Margaret asked the Homeowners Association to purchase a new printer for them since their printer is used mostly for the IAHA printing (notices, letters, ballots, etc) and it is dying. She had priced an equivalent replacement. John H made the motion that IAHA provide up to $250 for their replacement printer, and Herb J seconded. All approved by voice vote.
ARCHITECTURE: Dave said today was the first "foundation pour" for the new house on Aeronca. The owner is in Seattle right now and is looking to move in next May when the house is completed. The Luscombe property now has a concrete tie-down area and have taken part of the fence down so that they are now in compliance with the CC&Rs.
MAINTENANCE: The taxiway edge rocking project has required more work than anticipated, and after some neighbors return from Oshkosh there will be more helping hands to finish this project. There are gophers to eradicate, and spraying will commence again when the wind calms down. Signs warning people to keep people off the taxiway are up; someone has taken an old sign away but there is a new replacement for it.
PRESIDENT'S REPORT: No report this evening.
GOOD OF THE ORDER: Five homes went into escrow in June. There was a question from the floor about the ratio of airplane people among the new neighbors, and Margaret responded that all of the new residents are aviation people.
September 15 is a "salad and desert" event which used to be called the "ice cream social", and it is to be held in the EAA hangar. All neighbors are invited.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned by President Gary at 7:31 PM. Next meeting is October 24 at 7:00 PM at the EAA hangar. Respectfully submitted by Robert English, IAHA secretary.
